Greenwood, S.C. Campus Serves as Home to Nation's Largest Photo Products Fulfillment Organization, and $25 Million Photo Paper Operation

Greenwood, S.C., June 24, 2010 – FUJIFILM North America Corporation and FUJIFILM Manufacturing U.S.A., Inc., will dedicate two new state of the art facilities at their Greenwood, South Carolina campus today.

Fujifilm’s primary US manufacturing and distribution complex, located in Greenwood, SC, now serves as home to the company’s new, state-of-the-art digital photo print services and fulfillment operation to support many of the country’s leading retail stores and online photo web sites as well as Fujifilm’s own SeeHere.com photo web site.

“This investment was necessary for Fujifilm to maintain its leadership position in the industry as the premier provider of personal photo products to this growing market,” said Ryutaro Hosoda, president and CEO, FUJIFILM North America Corporation, and president, FUJIFILM Holdings America Corporation.

The rapid adoption of Fujifilm’s dry photo printing solution, the Frontier Dry Inkjet Minilab, has also spurred the need for a ready domestic supply of high quality inkjet photo paper. Fujifilm recently invested $25 million in the development of a plant at the Greenwood facility to support this growth.

“For decades, Fujifilm has invested billions of dollars in research and development to advance its superior coating technology that is the basis for our high quality photo paper manufacturing,” said Shinji Kataoka, president, FUJIFILM Manufacturing U.S.A., Inc. “Greenwood has served as an excellent home for our manufacturing operations in the U.S. and we are excited to be able to bring this new important product line to our campus.”

"Today serves as a reminder that South Carolina is making strides even in these challenging economic times. Fujifilm has been has been part of the state's business community for over 20 years and in that time the company has continued to grow and reinvent itself. The fact that seventy percent of the products made today were not a part of Fujifilm five years ago is a telling reminder that we are indeed in an increasingly competitive global economy. This makes Fujifilm's decision to grow in South Carolina an incredible compliment to our state, its workforce and their capabilities. We look forward to Fujifilm's future growth in the state and wish them continued success," said Gov. Mark Sanford.

To commemorate the opening of its new operations, Fujifilm will make contributions to local and national service organizations. A grant of $50,000 will be made to the United Center for Community Care in Greenwood. The U.C.C.C. is the result of collaboration between the United Way of Greenwood and Abbeville Counties, the faith-based community, and municipal and government groups. It was created to serve the homeless, the hungry and the disenfranchised with financial stability and dignity. Fujifilm will also contribute an additional $10,000 adding to its more than $100,000 donation in support in the last year to Homes for Our Troops, a non-profit organization that builds specially-adapted homes for severely injured veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan at no cost to the veterans. Through its SeeHere.com business Fujifilm also supports Homes for Our Troops with contributions for products consumers purchase, as well as a scholarship program for budding photojournalists.
